My CBS Story

A combination of work, studying and social life

In 2015, I moved from studying English at the University of Copenhagen to Copenhagen Business School because I believed CBS could give me a better opportunity to explore the field of business, communication and organisation. I knew that I wanted English to be the main language of my studies, so I enrolled in the programme ‘English and Organizational Communcation’, which, for me, combines language and business communication in an interesting way.

CBS is a professional and entertaining place to study, and the combination of the different types of students, from local to exchange students, is a sign of diversity and openness. I think that the rumours about the stereotypical try-hard CBS student is getting a bit old, and it does not take more than one short visit to the school to see that this type is just one among a hundred others. Sure, you can easily find the hard working, money-motivated student at CBS, who believes that his or her way of doing things is going to revolutionise the future. These people are also at the right place, since CBS provides the right environment for them to actually transform their ideas to practice.

I highly value the social aspects of studying at CBS. This does not mean that I do not put an effort into my courses and programme in general, but I would not prioritise these things over my social life either. I believe that it does not take very long to find a suitable balance between your studies and social life, and with regards to my priorities, social life wins anytime. Of course, exams are an exception. This is also why I decided to become a tutor at CBS because I know how important it is to quickly create relations to other people, as it will always benefit you in the long run.

I was lucky enough to get a job a few months back, as a student assistant at the communications department here at CBS, so it is my chance to use what I am taught while getting an insight into CBS as an organisation as well. This job, combined with my studies at CBS, seems like a very good opportunity for me to get the best possible foundation for my future career which will hopefully include working with people, business and communication.
