Neighbouring but different cultures
A refreshing approach to academia
I started my study at CBS in 1965 (HA), and very soon realized that CBS was different from what I was used to from the Norwegian gymnasium (advanced secondary education) I had attended. The message students at CBS got was something like “here you may say or write what you like, you may agree or disagree with the teachers or textbooks, but whatever you do they will say, please give us some documented evidence.”
In my former school in Norway it was more like “you may say or write what you like as long as we, or somebody we have approved, has said the same before.”
There is a fundamental difference.
