Handelshøjskolen appoints the first professor of business languages

In 1955, Poul Høybye, the first professor of business languages, is appointed.

The post-war period sees the appointment of a number of professors in business administration and economics, but in 1955, the first professor in business languages, Poul Høybye, is appointed. Together with Andreas Blinkenberg from Aarhus University, Poul Høybye is the author of the comprehensive French dictionary, which is used today by students taking French classes at Danish universities.

The next two language professors were appointed in the late 1960s.
