The director becomes the rector
In 1957, Professor and Doctor of Science in Economics and Management Poul Winding is appointed new director of Handelshøjskolen.
After the retirement of Director Christen Møller, Poul Winding, Professor and Doctor of Science in Economics and Management, is appointed new director of Handelshøjskolen. In June 1958, at the annual commemoration, Poul Winding introduces himself as the rector of Handelshøjskolen to emphasise that Handelshøjskolen is aspiring to a higher degree of independence from the Danish Society for the Advancement of Business Education.
2,660 students are now enrolled in Handelshøjskolen’s programmes. The permanent teaching staff counts seven professors, four readers and 25 associate professors
