Ministerial order on a postgraduate degree in business and economics
In 1959, the possibility to obtain a postgraduate degree is introduced.
A ministerial order is issued on a postgraduate degree in business and economics. This is the highest qualification in business and economics that can now be obtained at a business school in Denmark. The graduates of this programme are awarded the title ‘lic.merc.’, which corresponds to the Anglo-Saxon PhD degree. Lic.merc. is the precursor to Handelshøjskolen’s own PhD degree as we know it today and the expression of high-quality research and an adequate number of professors within the fields of business economics and administration.
